Corso Italia Neighbourhood

Corso Italia is one of those neighbourhoods that make Toronto one of the most liveable cities in the world. The neighbourhood is centered around St. Clair West between Dufferin Street and Lansdowne Avenue, bordered on the north by Morrison Avenue, and the south by Davenport Road. The main business area boasts increasingly upscale collection of espresso bars, restaurants, gelaterias, Italian boutiques, tailors, and shoe stores. There is also ample green space provided by one of the city's largest green spaces - Earlscourt Park.

Commuting options to the downtown core is one of the neighbourhood's advantages. The TTC’s Rapid transit LRT was completed in 2010 along St. Clair, connecting the neighbourhood very effectively with the subway line. The area has enjoyed quite an improvement in accessibility (and Real Estate prices) as a result. This is why it has become an increasingly popular choice among young, professional couples due to the relatively affordable house prices and easy access to the downtown core. Also, the newly-completed Toronto Bike Path gives 2-wheeled commuters a very quick and peaceful cycling option into the downtown core.

Make no mistake though - the pulse of this neighbourhood is still beating through the hearts of the original inhabitants. Italian, Portuguese and Latin American families are well-represented in this bustlingc neighbourhood, only possible in a world-class city like Toronto. This is on display every summer during the very popular Corso Italia Street Festival as well as the Salsa on St. Clair Festival.

If you are looking to live in the neighbourhood, your options are detached houses, semi-detached houses, or townhouses. There really aren't any lofts or condos in the area. If you want to be close, and are only looking for a condo, your closest option would be the Foundry Lofts on Lansdowne Ave., just south of Davenport.
